Palonoget 0.25mg Injection is a medication containing Palonosetron, a potent and selective 5-HT3 receptor antagonist. It is primarily used to prevent chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) and postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV). Palonosetron works by blocking the action of serotonin, a substance in the body that can trigger nausea and vomiting, particularly in response to certain medical treatments or surgical procedures. By inhibiting serotonin’s effect on the 5-HT3 receptors in the gut and brain, Palonoget effectively reduces the urge to vomit. It is administered intravenously by a healthcare professional. The typical dosage for CINV is a single 0.75 mg dose given 30 minutes before chemotherapy. For PONV, a single 0.075 mg dose is administered before induction of anesthesia.
