Forcan 200 Tablet 4 is an antifungal medication used to treat a variety of fungal infections. Its active ingredient is Fluconazole, a triazole antifungal agent. Fluconazole works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes. This disruption leads to increased membrane permeability and eventual cell death, effectively combating fungal growth.
Forcan 200 Tablet 4 is indicated for the treatment of candidiasis (yeast infections) including oropharyngeal candidiasis, esophageal candidiasis, and candidemia. It is also used for cryptococcal meningitis and for the prophylaxis of candidiasis in patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy. The dosage and duration of treatment depend on the type and severity of the fungal infection. It is typically taken orally with or without food.
Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, headache, and dizziness. Serious side effects are rare but can include liver problems, severe skin reactions, and irregular heart rhythms.
