Eleftha 375mg Injection is a medication primarily used for its potent antibacterial properties. The active ingredient is Ertapenem, a carbapenem-class antibiotic. Ertapenem works by inhibiting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, a crucial component for bacterial survival. This disruption leads to the death of susceptible bacteria. Eleftha 375mg Injection is indicated for the treatment of various moderate to severe bacterial infections, including community-acquired pneumonia, complicated intra-abdominal infections, complicated skin and skin structure infections, acute pelvic infections, and certain types of bacterial meningitis. It is also used for prophylaxis of surgical site infection in adults undergoing elective colorectal surgery. The dosage and duration of treatment are determined by the type and severity of the infection, as well as the patient’s response. Common side effects may include injection site reactions (pain, redness, swelling), nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, and rash.
