Editorial Policy
How the medical and commercial content on this site is written, reviewed, sourced and corrected — and the line between educational information and the clinical advice we will not give.
- Clinical content is written by pharmacy staff and reviewed by a registered medical practitioner before publication.
- We cite regulators, pharmacopoeias and peer-reviewed sources — not blog posts or our own marketing.
- Educational only: we never tell you to start, stop or change a medicine.
- Errors get corrected in place with a visible note, not quietly edited away.
A summary for convenience. The numbered sections below are the operative terms.
Everything clinical on this site exists to help you understand a medicine you have already been prescribed: what the molecule is, what the strengths and pack sizes mean, which plant made it, how it should be stored, and what the common cautions are.
It is not a substitute for your prescriber or your pharmacist. We do not diagnose, we do not recommend one molecule over another, and we do not tell you to start, stop, switch or change the dose of anything. Where a question needs a clinician, we say so instead of answering it.
Drafts are written by our pharmacy content team, who hold pharmacy qualifications and work alongside the dispensing pharmacists rather than in a marketing department.
Every page carrying clinical claims is reviewed before publication by Dr. A. Menon, MD (Reg. RMC/2011/48213), whose name and registration appear on the page along with the review date. A reviewer who cannot be named is not a reviewer.
We source from primary material: CDSCO and other national regulators, WHO prequalification and guidance documents, the official product information for the molecule, recognised pharmacopoeias, and peer-reviewed literature.
We do not cite blog posts, forum threads, affiliate content or our own marketing pages as evidence for a clinical claim. Where evidence is genuinely uncertain or contested, we say that rather than picking whichever reading suits a sale.
Product pages, offers and coupons are commercial and clearly commercial. They never carry a clinical recommendation, and clinical pages never carry a paid placement — no third party can buy a mention in our medical content, at any price.
We also refuse the standard tricks: no countdown timers on chronic medication, no invented scarcity, no fake "was" prices, and no urgency language attached to a health condition.
Clinical pages are re-reviewed at least every 12 months, and immediately when a regulator issues a relevant safety communication, approval change or recall. The review date on the page is the real date of the last review, not a rolling timestamp designed to look fresh.
If you find an error, write to care@indogenmed.org. We acknowledge within 3 working days, correct in place, and add a visible correction note where the change is material. Silently editing a mistake away is how a source stops being trustworthy.
Changes to this document. When we change a policy we raise the version number, update the date at the top, and keep the previous version available on request. Material changes affecting an order already placed do not apply retroactively to that order — the version in force on the day you paid is the version that governs it.
